Claire & Zac

Claire & Zac were on the lookout for a place to raise a family. Having seen a property they loved (a real fixer-upper), the young couple decided to put down an offer. Despite it being a legal requirement that all offers be presented to the seller, the agent was unwilling to present Claire & Zac’s. Frustrated and uncertain, the couple approached Kym & Shane, who believe an offer is the beginning of a conversation, not the end. They wrote up the offer on an unbranded letterhead for Claire & Zac to present back to the selling agent. Thankfully, this time the agent (resentfully) obliged. In the end, the seller did not accept the offer. Yet the answer alone was greatly appreciated, and gave Claire & Zac the closure they needed to move onto bigger and better things.

Jodie & Mike

Jodie & Mike were a middle-aged couple with three boys living in Victoria Park. With their boys growing up, they were starting to feel their eldest needed to move to a school where the environment would foster his development, both academically and as a person. They identified a school in South Perth, but there was a problem. Jodie is legally blind and unable to drive, and husband Mike works in the city, making getting the boys from Vic Park to South Perth more than a challenge. So, they needed to move. With the help of Kym & Shane they were able to sell their house. However, this opened up a new challenge, with no suitable properties immediately available in South Perth. Empathetic of the couple’s dilemma, Kym & Shane showcased their caring nature by organising a rental property closer to the school, at no financial benefit. This allowed Jodie, Mike and the boys to move on in life, while Kym & Shane used the following 12 months to help the family find their perfect home.

Joy

In 1978, Joy built her family house with her husband, who has since passed away. With Joy struggling to care for mounting maintenance issues, her friends suggested she move into a group of smaller townhouse style houses in a complex where she would be surrounded by like minded people. But Joy was having trouble letting go. After learning Joy’s story, Shane helped Joy understand that precious memories aren’t embedded in the bricks and mortar – they travel with you, wherever you go. These kind, inspiring words released Joy, who decided the time was right to move on to her next chapter. However, upon learning that the townhouses she planned to move onto weren’t quite right for her, Joy decided to put her plans on hold and wait for another opportunity. Rather than attempt to push a sale, Kym & Shane endorsed Joy’s decision wholeheartedly. After all, you’ve got to love where you live.

Kathy & Graham

Kathy & Graham had a long held dream to move to a home where they could stroll along the beach together in their twilight years. However, according to many real estate agents, the house they were “selling” wasn’t worth enough money to make this dream a reality. Heartbroken and defeated after numerous bad experiences, Kathy & Graham were referred to Kym & Shane, revealing their plans during an honest heart2heart conversation at their dining table. Kym & Shane listened, pondered, and helped the couple understand that impossible is just an opinion. Two weeks later, Kym & Shane had found a buyer for Kathy & Graham’s current home, and a new coastal home to move into via another agency in Shoalwater. The buyer is over the moon and Kathy & Graham’s faith in people is restored.
